    Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

This past holiday season, Simply Mac donated $5 for every computer sold to benefit local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. In addition, customers had the opportunity to purchase Miracle Balloons by matching Simply Mac’s $5 donation. As a thank you for each donation, patrons received a coupon for $10 off their next purchase of an accessory or $10 off their next trade-in. “We are proud to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and are committed to saving and improving the lives of children in our communities,” said Steve Bain, president and CEO of Simply Mac. “We are grateful for the efforts of the dedicated people who help thousands of children each year and are happy to support them in any way possible.” Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals provide comfort and treatment to millions of sick kids. Every minute, 62 North American children enter a CMN Hospital for medical care, including ER visits, cancer treatment, ICU stays and surgeries. Each dollar donated remains in the local community. Together, Simply Mac and CMN Hospitals will be able to help sick and injured children in their different store community’s through the holiday fundraising campaign.

    2013 Simply Mac's 3rd Annual e-Waste Recycle Event

Simply Mac hosted a free community eWaste recycling event at the Maverick Center on Friday May 17th and Sat May 18th. Over 70% of our toxic waste in landfills comes from old cell phones, computers, and other outdated electronics. With cell phones and technology changing so rapidly, this is an exponentially growing issue. Throwing away your old phone, television, or broken printer causes lead and other toxins to seep into the ground, polluting our soil and ground water. Approximately 208 million pounds of e-waste fill Utah landfills each year and in just four days Simply Mac recycled more eWaste than the entire state of Utah recycles in a single year.

Simply Mac and the Community Foundation of Utah

The Community Foundation of Utah has worked with Simply Mac to enhance the quality of life for people in Utah who are in need by giving their employees the opportunity to donate a portion of their paychecks to the fund.

The mission of the Community Foundation of Utah, and the common mission of every community foundation, is to enhance the quality of life in the local area. Community foundations carry out this very broad mission by building a permanent endowment fund and using the annual income to support a variety of local nonprofit organizations through grants and special projects.

Simply Mac e-Waste Recycle Event 2012

The second annual Simply Mac e-Waste Recycle Event took place on April 13 and 14 at the Maverik Center and was a great success! Utah's businesses and consumers recycled more than 250,000 pounds in electronic waste! To recycle that amount after an estimated 500,000 pounds only one year earlier is a HUGE feat! Great job Utah and we'll see you at the next event!

Simply Mac e-Waste Recycle Event 2011

Our first e-Waste Recycle Event is April 29 and 30, 2011. We were so excited to bring FREE e-Waste recycling to both Salt Lake and Utah counties, where we collected 500,000 pounds of e-Waste!

You may not know it, but e-Waste is the fastest-growing segment of America's trash volume. e-Waste accounts for 5% of our landfill volume, and it's only getting worse the more technology advances.

    Meals for Macs 2010

We held our first Meals for Macs food drive in 2010, collecting donations of macaroni and cheese, canned apple products and other food items at our four Utah retail locations in Layton, Orem, St. George and the Fort Union area from Nov. 15 through Dec. 18. We also pledged to donate 10 pounds of food for every computer or iPad purchased at Simply Mac during that period.

Through these efforts, we were able to donate $25,000 worth of food to the Utah Food Bank. That's the equivalent of 70,726 meals and enough to feed 48 families one meal for an entire year!
